Mathrubhumi's failure in Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple treasure issue

For the last two weeks, Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, the pride of Kerala was hogging the limelight in media as well as in public place. The issue was the buzz everywhere and so many rumours spread all over the world about the treasure in Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple.

Though I was not amazed or curious to know what is inside the vaults, the way the Kerala media's reporting / coverage, especially Mathrubhumi's, a leading newspaper in Kerala embarassed me. To an extent, I was shocked.

It prompted me to write a few words about this issue.

Frankly, I was worried with Mathrubhumi's aggresive reporting and their strong inclination in revealing the temple treasure, even their word-to-word reporting on vaults.

I was analaysing this issue from two angles - one from a devotee's point of view and other as a journalist.

As a devotee, I am blessed. Because I have got many chances to visit this mammooth temple that tells the history of royal rule. I have experienced or felt that positive energy is more in this temple. After the darshan of Sree Padmanabha, many times, I was relaxed and got more mental / physical energy. Yes, the darshan of Sree Padmanabha takes us to next level in life. Everytime, we will wish we could have spend more time in this temple.

Great architecture, mural paintings and more. Yes, Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple is not only the pride of Kerala but also India's golden feather. But what to say, now India has transformed a lot. Now, more importance is being given to Taj Mahal, Quatab Minar, Synagogue in Mattancherry etc. There is no place for great temples in people's heart and in Govt's tourism book.

Let us come into our main topic.

In my viewpoint as a devotee, I think Supreme Court's order was a damp a squib. The order to review the assests of the great Temple was not planned enough or not well organised. There were many mistakes from the observer whom Supreme Court assigned.

1. The observer / someone was leaking all the information regarding the treasure in the temple to media in every seconds!

2. The interview of the observer to Mathrubhumi, briefing how he entered into the vaults. He even revealed many confidential details.

3. Report by Mathrubhumi quoting that the great temple in India may face robbery to terrorist attack. What a foreseeing and what a deliberate attempt to create unncesseary issues.

4. Malayala Manorama's report saying that with the assest of more than one lakh crore, Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple is India's pride and Kerala also. Manorama officials should enlighten public that what is the criteria / how they came to this conclusion?

5. Finally Supreme Court orders don't reveal the assests of temple, after two weeks of analaysis / postmortem in media! It is a million dollar question that why Supreme Court didn't restrict this analysis when it was in full swing?
