Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet to start today
The second edition of Global Investors Meet (GIM), a prestigious event organised by the Tamil Nadu Government, will begin today. The two-day summit is an attempt to showcase potential business opportunities in the state and attract industrialists and corporate giants from across the world.
Over 250 companies from 10 countries will be participating in the event at Chennai Trade Centre. United Kingdom, Australia, France, Japan, Republic of Korea and Singapore are the partner countries for the event.
The key focus areas for the summit are Aerospace & Defence, Agro & Food Processing, Automobiles & Auto Components, Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Electronics & Hardware, Heavy Engineering, IT/ ITeS, Infrastructure, Pharmaceuticals & Biotechnology, Renewable Energy, Skill Development, Textiles and Apparels.
The first edition of GIM was held in 2015 under the supervision of then Chief Minister late J. Jayalalithaa. The event signed up close to 100 MoUs in energy, MSME, IT and agriculture sectors.
