NRI industrialist Varghese Kurian honoured with RGIDS award

Bahrain-based NRI industrialist Varghese Kurian, Chairman and Managing Director of Al Namal and VKL Holdings, a leading business conglomerate in Middle East and India, was honoured with prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Development Studies (RGIDS) award for socially responsible entrepreneur at a function held at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

VKL Group spearheaded by Varghese Kurian recipient of Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, highest civilian honour for NRIs, donated Rs 8 crore towards flood relief in Kerala. The group  also undertook the responsibility to renovate houses in the village of Chittar in Pathanamthitta district and distributed home appliances to 6,000 flood-hit families in the Ranni area.

VKL Group has announced an investment of Rs 2000 crore in Kerala by setting up hotels and resorts, housing, educational institutions, speciality hospitals, hotels, shopping malls and Ayurveda resorts.
