AVP set to new launches
The Arya Vaidhya Pharmacy Coimbatore Limited is all set to launch a new factory, multi specialty hospital and training courses for fresh B.A.M.S graduates as part of birth centenary celebrations (2007-2008) of its founder P.V.Rama Varier. During the year-long celebrations AVP will also host an International Ayurveda Conference and Health Expo at Coimbatore on August.
“Infrastructure plays a major role in any industry. To meet the GMP guidelines we are establishing a plant at Kanjikode, Kerala, which will definitely help in maintaining the quality of medicines. It will be more hygienic, more worker friendly, more safe etc. The new plant will be 34,000sq feet in the initial stage and will be one lakh in the final stage. By May the plant would be commissioned,” says Dr. Indulal, Deputy Director, Technical.
In the education field, AVP will conduct one month-one year duration course for fresh BAMS graduates to learn the value- based practice of ayurveda. Indulal says “Now a days in controlled college situations the students learn little about the authentic ayurvedic practice. The main purpose of this course is to give an insight into the practical aspects of ayurveda and our academy will act as a finishing school to mould the knowledge of pupil. Apart from that short term workshops will also be conducted.”
Thousands of delegates from different parts of the globe will meet for the GCC (Grand Centennial Convention) on ‘Ayurveda a Globalising Tradition’ along with the Health Expo- 2008, for three days starting from 22nd August 2008 to 24th here. “Health Expo is the most prestigious programme of centenary celebrations and we are working to make it as a grand one,” says Indulal.
Health Expo-2008 is mainly aimed to show case India as a health hub of the world by promoting all Indian medical knowledge systems specially emphasizing on Ayurveda and its allied sciences.
In clinical service, AVP is building a multi specialty hospital near Navakarai to accommodate more patients. The work of 250 -bed hospital has been progressing.
