Tribute to Keltron K. P. P. Nambiar
Technocrat K. P. P. Nambiar passed away in Bangalore on Tuesday evening. He was 86.

K. P. P. Nambiar, a man who embraced Technology and Information and Communication Technology, was instrumental in setting up first state run electronics in India - Keltron (Kerala State Electronic Development Corporation) and country’s first IT park - Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram.
Nambiar hailed from Kalliassery in Kannur was the first chairman of Technopark and chairman of governing body of IIM-Kozhikode. In 2006, nation honoured him with the Padma Bhushan. He was the president of the World Malayalee Council.
Though Nambiar had numerous business ideas for his state, the political atmosphere prevailed during that time didn't allow him to implement. As a result, Kerala had lost many prestigious development projects. Controversial Kannur Power Project, promoted by Nambiar, is one among them.
