Sam Pitroda to revitalize Kerala Ayurveda

Shri Sam Pitroda, adviser to PM on public infrastructure, information and innovations, has mooted 10 business plans to propel Kerala's growth. His one of the suggestions was - Revitalization of Kerala Ayurveda. The emphasis will be on to spread word globally about the efficacy of Kerala Ayurveda. 

Ayurveda : A key sector for growth

Shri Pitroda said Ayurveda would play a pivotal role in Kerala's development. "Kerala has the potential to become the global capital for Ayurveda. Integrating modern medicine with Indian system like ayurveda, siddha and unani will bring down health costs. There is also a proposal to begin a world class university for trans-disciplinary health sciences in Mavoor,'' he explained.

Kerala Chief Minister Shri Oommen Chandy said that the growth of the Ayurveda sector could contribute towards employment generation and revenue generation.
